Peterborough FC will be hosting the 2025 CANAM CUP.  This is an international friendly soccer tournament between Canada and the USA. The tournament has been around since 1976, with Peterborough last hosting this event in 1984.  https://www.canamcup.org/ The CANAM Cup will take place over the weekend of 23-25 May 2025 at Eastgate Memorial Park. This year we have the pleasure of hosting 2 teams from the USA, Berks Utd (defending champions) and Lehigh Saegnerbund both from the Lehigh Valley region in Pennsylvania. Congratulations the O/40’s for defeating Global FC in the Durham Oldtimers O/40 Cup on Sunday 30th September 2023. The Final was held on a pretty warm late September morning at Scugog fields in Port Perry. The lads turned up determined to exact revenge in a repeat of the 2022 Cup final having lost 2-1. With the pitch hard and the wind blowing it was a hard fought win. Goalkeeper Sam Barratt was kept busy in the opening half with Global setting a high pace with attack after attack. Peterborough eventually broke the deadline with a late first-half goal created by the lanky veteran Paul Lalonde, playing what turned out to be his Testimonial game for the team, and scored by Dom Immancini. The second-half the defence soaked up some early pressure, but looked rather comfortable, with Jeff Hall cleaning up at the back and another veteran, White Lightning Dave O’Neill coming out of a mid-season retirement and assisting out at the left back position. Paul Lalonde could have put the game to bed with a lung-busting solo run from the halfway line only to have a tame (back pass type) shot saved by the goalkeeper. Thanks for an amazing season...

Over 45 Cup Final Game Sorry to say the over 45 team did not win the cup final again this year, we got beat by Oshawa FC 1-0 in a really close match that could have gone either way. We had a great season with only one loss all season and being runners up in a league this competitive is a big achievement so we are all happy with 2013 season for the over 45’s.
